I joined the team behind AJ Bell's app transformation for two months, owning UI delivery for one of the platform's key features, Search. Working closely with the UX team, I turned existing wireframes into high-fidelity UI flows, contributing to a wider rebrand and helping shape a unified investment app used by millions of customers.

From wireframes to UI
I sat inside the team day to day, joining stand-ups and working sessions to stay aligned with UX, product and engineering as the feature evolved. Starting from wireframes, I built out the full UI for the Search experience, covering fund discovery, filtering, favourites and page templates, and delivered over 100 screens across the flow. AJ Bell's design system was extensive, so a big part of the job was making sure every screen used the correct components, states and patterns, keeping the work consistent, scalable and ready for engineering handoff rather than reinventing things screen by screen.
The Search feature concluded with a polished, high-fidelity UI built using reusable components and page templates that could be applied consistently across the wider product. Every screen was handed off with clearly defined states, spacing, and component specifications, giving the dev team what they needed to move into the build phase. The project ran longer than the original timeline, but the work I delivered gave the team a solid foundation to build from.
"Nek was thrown straight into the deep end of the AJ Bell project, and handled it with no problem whatsoever. Her proactivity, ability to think on her feet and manage stakeholders has been really impressive. Clearly a person that can be trusted to 'just get it done'."
